5 Reasons Why You Need to Visit Sweden

It’s been over a year since I moved to Sweden, yet I still think about it frequently. From the amazing people to the beautiful landscape, Sweden is the ultimate travel destination.

1. Delicious treats and traditions

With fika as a Swedish tradition, you're encouraged to snack on treats like cinnamon buns and coffee several times a day with co-workers and friends. Who could turn that down?

2. Best street style

Swedish cities offer an array of fashion and street style. The Swedes are known for their effortlessly chic and minimalist style. They also boast top fashion bloggers like Kenza and Carolines Mode.

3. Vibrant cities and culture

While I lived in the smaller city of Växjö, I was able to hop on the train to the bigger cities like Gothenburg (Göteborg) or Stockholm. I recommend checking out the Gothenburg Museum of Art for a glimpse into Scandinavian arts and culture. If you’re in Stockholm, walk around the Royal Palace where you’ll also get a fantastic view of the city.

4.    Beautiful nature and landscape

If you love spending time outdoors, Sweden is the place for you. The country offers thousands of lakes and the allemansrätten tradition that allows people to respectably explore every bit of the land. If this isn't enough to convince you, check this site out.

5. Incredible people

While there are a lot of blondes and many Swedes tend to keep to themselves, there is also a lot of diversity in Sweden and the people are really sociable once you get to know them. Some of my closest friends from my semester abroad are local Swedes who shared their traditions and welcomed me to their country. Umeå University provides a description of a typical Swede here.
